Polina Agapaki studied Physics at the University of Crete and then carried out an MPhil on the use of lasers in sculpture conservation at Loughborough University (joint course with National Museum and Galleries on Merseyside – NMGM) and an internship at the Sculpture Conservation Department of the V&A. She has taught Physics (labs) at the Athens Technological Institute, has worked as a freelance sculpture conservator, translator and editor of scientific books and articles, and then moved on to work for the Public Relations Office of the Greek PM, being responsible for the Government’s web-site (among other tasks). This was followed by another PR-meets-web-editing position for a book-publishing firm and her current job for a company of magazine publications, where she worked as editorial assistant. This is the third year Polina is involved in co-organizing Betting on Shorts in Athens.
Nikos Rovas studied Economics at the Holy City of Messolonghi, while at the same time he was developing his skills in traditional/ folk dancing & singing. He is still trying to master those skills. Furthermore, Nikos produced radio programs for three years at the local station. He also participated in the first cinephile club of the city and got involved in the founding of a local movie theater. Back in Piraeus and Athens, he worked at the marketing departments of several companies for 8 years. He now works in logistics, after obtaining a P.G. Diploma in Logistics Management in 2007. He has also acted as a stage designer for an amateur theatre group and has been dj-ing for a number of years in various bars in downtown Athens. This is the third year Nikos is involved in co-organizing Betting on Shorts and he will dj at the after-screening party.
